"I love Romanian 'pânză topită' (crinkled gauze) because it is so incredibly skin-friendly. I grew up with this fabric; my grandparents made their shirts, linens, and curtains from homemade 'boiled' or 'raw' canvas. Their fabric always smelled like sun-ripened wheat.
