This canvas is not a perfectly smooth and cold one; it is a "broken" fabric, alive, whose crepe texture gives it a special three-dimensionality. Each fold and each hemp thread tell the story of a noble material, used for centuries, but which brings an incredibly modern and organic air to any decor.

Washing: gentleness is key

• Temperature: we recommend washing at temperatures of 30°C or maximum 40°C. Hemp is a resistant fiber, but water that is too hot can lead to shrinkage (water absorption) greater than necessary.

• Detergent: Use a mild detergent, preferably eco-friendly or for delicates. Avoid harsh chlorine-based chemical bleaches, even if the curtains are white; they can weaken the natural fiber over time.

• Program: choose a program for delicate clothes or "Hand Wash" with a low spin speed to avoid the formation of very deep, difficult-to-manage creases.

2. Drying: natural and unhurried

• Avoid the dryer: automatic drying can make the hemp fiber stiff and affect the crepe appearance.

• Air drying: It is best to lay them out to dry naturally. A great method is to hang them on a rack while they are still slightly damp . The weight of the canvas will help the folds to settle nicely and naturally.

3. Maintaining the "crepe" texture

• No ironing (recommended): The charm of these curtains lies precisely in their textured/crepey texture. If you dry them by hanging them directly on the rail, you won't need to iron them.

• Steam: If you still want to smooth them out a bit, use a vertical steam iron. This will relax the fibers without flattening their three-dimensional appearance.

• If you use a classic iron , iron them while they are wet, using a high temperature, but without pressing excessively so as not to lose the "crinkled" effect.

4. Evolution over time

• Hemp has a wonderful property: it becomes softer and more beautiful with each wash . Don't worry if it seems a little stiff after the first wash; it will immediately regain its suppleness to the touch.

Extra tip: Once every few months, it is enough to air them out by opening the window wide on a day with a light breeze; hemp naturally refreshes very quickly.
